How to Make a Rainbow Loom Tulip Tower Bracelet Pattern

In this video you will learn how to make the Tulip Tower Bracelet (an intermediate level design). To make this backpack tag you will need:

  • 30 “A” color bands. You can do 10 Pink, 10 Red, 10 Yellow, or 5 of six different colors.

  • 7 “B” Green bands.

  • 5  “C” Black bands.

  • A “C” Clip.

If you don’t have a Band organizer like the one in the video, grab a piece of paper and make your own. It’s a good idea to have the supplies ready before you begin and get ready to continue with the following steps in the guide.

Step 1: Placing the Bands.

To get started, place your Loom so that the red arrow is pointing away from you. We will begin by placing the first “A” color bands from the center pin to the left, forward center and right pins. Two more bands will go from the right and left pins to the second center pin. A “C” color band will be placed across the Loom (from left to right), and a “B” pin will be placed vertically on top of the previous band from the second center pin to the third center pin. Please see the diagram below for more details.

Repeat the pattern until the end of the Loom. On the last one, do not place the “C” and “B” bands. On the last pin we will use a “B” band as a cap band.

Step 2: Looping the bands

To start looping the bands, begin by turning the Loom around so that the red arrow is pointing towards you. Refer to the diagram below as you loop the first bands:

Begin with the first center pin and loop the “A” band towards the next pin on the left. Do the same for the next central and right pins. Now, start at the second row and loop the “A” bands on the left and on the right pins towards the next center pin. Proceed by looping the “B” color band on the central pin forward; wrap the “C” bands around the center pin. Repeat this looping pattern for the rest of the bands. The last two bands should be looped to the center pin.

Step 3: Finishing the bracelet

In order to finish the bracelet, position the hook on the last pin. Pull up all the bands on that pin and slide the hook through the channel you just formed. Tilt the hook to the left and place a “B” color band on the end of it. Pull back the hook and slide it up and place both ends of the bands on the hook: move them to the thickest part of the hook. Use your hands and the hook to remove the bands from the Loom.

You will now need to create an extension so that the bracelet fits comfortably on your wrist. Place five or six bands on the Loom and place your cap band on the last one. Extend the first band to the side and create an area to place your “C” clip. Join that area together with the area of the “body” of the bracelet you are holding with your hook using the clip. Your bracelet is now finished!
